Alcoholic Beverage Liability: Serving Alcohol ResponsiblyEstablishments granted the right to serve alcohol are closely regulated by the state. When an establishment fails to serve alcohol responsibly, it risks not only the revocation of that right but also costly civil and administrative penalties; in some jurisdictions, employees may even be assessed criminal penalties.  An establishment’s responsible alcohol service program must start with training that informs servers of alcohol’s physical effects, explains the legal issues surrounding alcohol service, and teaches the correct procedures for serving patrons at all levels of intoxication.   Employees must also be trained to respond appropriately to incidents of alcohol intoxication, including knowing how to cut off alcohol service, to distinguish between valid and phony forms of identification, and to provide details for a written report should one be required.  This course addresses all of these topics fully, enabling owners and operators of establishments to implement an effective responsible alcohol service program (Discounts are available for Enterprise Training by calling us at 1-800-521-9667).
