For business operations to run efficiently and profitably, parts and materials must flow smoothly throughout the production and distribution process. Yet the goals of speed and efficiency cannot be achieved at the cost of increased risk of injury and death to workers responsible for moving these materials. For this reason, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has established strict standards governing the way materials are handled and stored in the workplace.
To prevent injuries and deaths resulting from improperly handling and storing materials, employers and employees must be able to identify the hazards associated with handling workplace materials, understand OSHA's regulations that address these concerns, and implement procedures that prevent and correct unsafe conditions and practices in the workplace.
This course provides comprehensive instruction in how to properly handle and store workplace materials, enabling employers to conduct business efficiently and employees to work safely.
