COMPLIANCEState of FloridaThis program complies fully with the requirements for providers of condominium association education set by the State of Florida’s Division of Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes.
COURSE DETAILSThe quality of life in a condominium community depends largely on the quality of the leaders who manage it, namely the association’s Directors, Officers, and board members. The effectiveness of their leadership in turn depends on the extent of their knowledge of the rules that govern condominium communities, as stated in Florida’s Condominium Act (Section 718 of the Florida Statutes), and the association’s governing documents. Up to now, association leaders had not been required to demonstrate their mastery of these extensive and complex regulations.
That changed in October 2008. The State of Florida, seeking to improve governance and reduce statutory violations by board members, amended the Condominium Act by including a provision that all those seeking to serve on their association’s board sign a certification form
“…attesting that he or she has read and understands, to the best of his or her ability, the governing documents of the association and the provisions of [the Condominium Act] and any applicable rules.”

In short, the State has significantly raised the bar on the duty of care that board members must exert in governing their condominiums.
Such a legal burden might scare off residents from serving their communities. But thanks to The Human Equation’s suite of online Condominium Management courses, condominium communities throughout Florida can train their association leaders conveniently and affordably.
