An Overview of Employment LiabilitiesWorkplace-related claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and a multitude of other alleged offenses against employees and applicants continue to be filed, and the price for employer misconduct continues to grow. In 2002 alone, the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission received 84,442 job-related civil rights complaints.  More than 14,000 sexual harassment claims and lawsuits are filed annually in this country. Additionally, when the Society for Human Resource Management randomly polled members recently, 57 percent of the 616 respondents said their organizations had faced an employment-related lawsuit at least once during the past five years.

This course discusses the employment liabilities and laws that govern and affect the conduct between employer and employee.
