Establishments granted the right to serve alcohol in Florida are closely regulated by state, as well as by local, laws. When an establishment fails to serve alcohol responsibly, it risks not only the revocation of that right but also costly civil and administrative penalties; in some jurisdictions, employees may even be assessed criminal penalties. An establishment’s responsible alcohol service program must teach establishment employees alcohol’s physical effects, explain the legal issues surrounding alcohol service, and instruct them in the correct procedures for serving patrons at all levels of intoxication. Employees must also be trained to respond appropriately to incidents of alcohol intoxication, including knowing how to cut off alcohol service, to distinguish between valid and phony forms of identification, and to provide details for a written report should one be required.
This
online training suite includes a full-length course that address all of these topics fully, enabling owners and operators of establishments in Florida to implement an effective responsible alcohol service program for their employees that complies with the requirements set out in Sections 561.701-561.706 of the Florida Statutes, known as the Florida Responsible Vendor Act, as well as three update courses required by Florida law.
